I have a couple of die hard Ramen fans in our group that span the globe looking for gems like Umami. They tell me this is the best Ramen in Folsom, maybe all of Sacramento County. As many of you know we had to eliminate this delicacy from our diet due to small intestinal issues. But the Sushi and Takoyaki? All systems GO! We loved the Onigiri and the taste of the Pan-Fried Gyoza. They have a very unique Geso that was also very good. I should know, I ate almost all of it! It's a comfy place that wasn't very loud. Our pals, Monica and Denise, did all the ordering through a tablet like apparatus and that was it. What limited staff we dealt with were very pleasant and efficient. 01/25

My first visit to Umami Ramen was nothing short of fantastic! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a unique setup--a supermarket-style area filled with mochi, snacks, and anime merchandise. It's a fun and unexpected touch that adds to the overall charm of the place. The restaurant operates on a self-order system, which makes the experience feel modern and efficient. Once you place your order, the staff promptly brings your food to the table. If you're new or unsure about the menu, don't worry--there's always a friendly staff member near the kiosks, ready to assist with any questions. I ordered the veggie ramen, and it was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and savory, perfectly complementing the hearty tofu and soft-boiled egg. Every bite was a comforting burst of flavor. On top of that, the staff were incredibly attentive, frequently stopping by to refill our waters, which added a nice touch of hospitality. Overall, the combination of great service, amazing food, and a unique shopping area makes Umami Ramen a must-visit spot. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We dined in for the first time today and we only have good things to say! This spot is definitely going to be a part of our regular restaurant rotation now. The vibes of Umami Ramen are very similar to the ramen spots that we have experienced in Japan. You order from a kiosk and seating is wherever you'd like as long as the table is clean. Remember to grab your own table number so they know where to find you! They will bring you water but all of the other drinks are self serve. The left of the entrance has the feel of a Japanese convenience store; just ask them to open your bottled stuff! If you are going out for ramen and expecting a waiter and full on service, this is not the place. With this being said, all of the staff is still friendly and willing to answer questions and help you out, of course. As for the food, everything was delicious and you can tell they use quality ingredients. Between the two of us, we ordered the Geso fried appetizer, Spicy Miso Ramen, Tonkatsu Ramen, and extra eggs and black garlic oil. Both of our broths were savory and fragrant, but we agreed the spicy miso broth took the cake. The geso was lightly battered and had great texture. The pork chasu was seasoned perfectly and completely melted in my mouth, and let me say it that their portions are HUUUGE! They are not greedy with the toppings and noodles. Hubs and I each finished about half of our ramen and saved the rest for leftovers. We left full and very satisfied! Everything was perfectly priced and I wish we had discovered this place earlier. There is a reason they made it onto Yelp's Top 100 Ramen Spots in CA last year!

I heard about this place through friends. Parking is easy and plentiful. They have a small area for refrigerated food and Knick knacks. To order, you use the kiosk to order. The food comes out pretty quick so it's a short wait time. It had more of a fast food vibe. Good place to go to if you're looking for an easy, quick bite to eat. Pros: broth is pretty good, a little on the salty side. The portions are good. Cons: none

Ugh. My favorite ramen place in Sacramento. I would drive out here any time just because it's that good. I was so happy to see that my portion size was back to normal- last time I visited, the portion size was significantly smaller. I got the spicy tonkotsu ramen on a gloomy/cold night and it was perfect! Not too salty and so full of flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the spice level was as described. Love the screens to order and was happy that my water glass was refilled without me asking! The karaage chicken was also really good- dip it in the ramen broth too Definitely busy but it's busy for a reason! Will be coming back over for and over again.

This location is very quaint. On the side of the restaurant, they sell Japanese snacks and goodies which was a nice touch. The shop has two workers and the staff is very nice. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and it was good! It was full of flavor and hit the spot. If you purchase an alcoholic beverage, spicy edamame appetizer was included for free! It tasted what you would expect. Try this place out for a nice meal.

I first tried this place during a Yelp event and fell in love with their food. I came here for lunch few weeks after. There are 2 ordering kiosks. Once placed an order, I grabbed a number from the counter and sat on an available table. I ordered Paitan Ramen with thick noodles and Chicken Karaage. Food came out fast. It was my first time trying a chicken broth ramen so I didn't know what to expect. Taste wise was pretty good overall but was a bit too salty for me. Chicken karaage was juicy but wasn't as good as I first tried it during a Yelp event so a was a bit disappointed. It was only alright this time around. A bit too peppery taste for me. Place was clean. Service was good and attentive.

I visited Umami Ramen on a Sunday afternoon for lunch to celebrate my mom's birthday. We lucked out when we found one open table! The ordering was pretty straightforward - there are two touchscreen kiosks for you to look through the menu and order. We opted to get the geso (fried squid legs), pan-fried gyoza, 2 umami buns (pork cutlet), mazeman (soupless noodles), and black garlic tonkostu. Pro tip: you can ask the kitchen to split your soup ramens when you place your order! My favorite items were definitely the umami buns and the black garlic tonkotsu. The mazeman was good, but very strong on the raw onion. I personally would skip the pan-fried gyoza and the geso, as both were pretty average. The service was great and the restaurant was consistently busy the entire time we were there. Umami also has a small shop area in the same space with fun snacks, drinks, and desserts that you can purchase and enjoy in the restaurant. My parents got a red bean mochi ice cream to share.

Wow! The Black Garlic Tonkotsu at this place is amazing. That broth is probably the best I've had out here and it's not even close. The chashu was juicy and tender with a slight melt in your mouth feel. Add the egg and the thick noodles and this really just hit the spot. The owners are great people and got a chance to meet them and they are great down to earth people. Love the vibe and decor of this place as well with the anime flair and the Japanese snacks for sale. From what I understand they will be bring back sushi soon. Can't wait to visit this place again. Definitely worth a stop if you find yourself in fo
